Hello hello from Star Prairie, what I would also refer to as the 'Outback' of Wisconsin....As you'll see from the photos below, I started in a Target checking out kiddie helmets. Would've loved to ride with the one with the ears today, but ended up with another one on loan thanks to Mike Engleman.
As you'll see from the photos the boys were happily out numbered today by a very fit group of young women who all qualified for the NVGP 'Pro Ride' and collegiate team. We took off for an afternoon spin through the gorgeous scenery offered in the area - we passed some old barns, lakes, gorgeous log cabins, and loads of greenery. As we rode out of our farm driveway (see photo) it was a bit cloudy but as we rode on the sun joined the party and our legs did too!
It was a beautiful day and I vote we come back here for a winter training camp to xc ski. Our family hosts are amazing, Sue, a two time Pilsbury doughgirl bake off semifinalist is going to town baking gluten free muffins, prepping salads, and her husband Jay prepped the bird (a very large turkey), so Id say we definitely won't go hungry!
I have a feeling that we'll have more fun than should be allowed and I can't think of a place I'd rather be right now!
And don't tell the French, but I've just been served a glass of red wine in a plastic water cup!
Cheers,
Marion
