South London born Joanna Rowsell was discovered by British Cycling's Talent Team back in 2004, at the age of just fifteen, and is now a key member of Great Britain's endurance track squad. She took a number of national junior titles on the track, but by the age of 19 she was already a World champion, as part of the 2008 Great Britain pursuit team; a title that she successfully defended in 2009, and took the European championship in October of last year. Right now Joanna is training towards the Olympic Games in her home city this summer, where she hopes to get the chance to win team pursuit gold in what will be a new event for the women.
