IMWI is two weeks ouit...officialy in taper mode.

training ahs gone really well...feel as strong as I ever have on a bike (including dropping guys on training rides who i consider to be stronger riders). I've got about 4K miles in my legs (which is less than 2 years ago by ~800 miles), but at the same time, I have substantially more running miles (798 miles, 315 more than 2014, but only 20 more running activities).

I had been shooting for 1K miles, but I lost some time at the beginning of the year to plantar fasciitis, otherwise I think I would have hot it. Overall, very pleased with my running form and fitness....hopefully it pays dividends in 2 weeks!

The only thing I am somewhat nervous about is my swim, which I don't feel is up to the level it was 2 years ago...we'll have to wiat and see how it plays out, but hopefully I can get a good position and get caught up in the surge of swimmers at the beginning of ther ace and ride some feet to pick up some time. You guys know what it feels like to draft off someone....same thing for swimming. If you can get on the right pair of feet, the swim can feel ridiculously easy and / or faster.

Still a decent volume on tap for this week (~15-17 hours), but lower intensity and down about 5 hours in volume. Next week will be ~10 hours of training, plus my race.

Once I have the website for tracking, I'll post it in case any of you are bored enough to want to follow me online!

Whoops....check those bike stats. I actually have MORE miles than 2014. Forgot that I switched over to a crank based PM at the beginning of the year, so a lot of my indoor rides had no mileage associated with them (used to come through via my PowerTap hub).

So my ride time for 2016 is 260.5 hours vs. 236.75 hours in 2014. At a rough average of 20 mph, that nets out to 5210 miles vs. 4800 miles.

I need a nap after reading this post :-) Just pretend there is a shark chasing you in the water. That might make your time a bit faster in the swim.

Yup, taper time but my taper is a little different. As in drywall taper and taping.

I don't know if the shark analogy would work for me. I can envision stomach cramps from laughing thinking of being chased though the water by Nibali!

Good luck, don't get kicked, and show the others how a ride is supposed to be done.
