Well OC... You keep being a smart-ass, and you may be able to find a walking cane up your ass ; )

That's not a walking cane, that's called a spine young man.
Seriously, with all the supply chain challenges (one can't even buy a bike anymore these days) it may be best to proactively order a walking cane. If only for my mom, we were joking the other week as we walked past Jim Morrison's tombstone in Paris that she should be getting herself a cane with knee and leg cramp issues she's been having recently. I think she called me a smart ass too haha. 80 and still whip smart.

OC...Good observation about this forum turning into a health forum. You aren't wrong. If you think about it, this forum has been a closed club for probably a decade now since the only people posting are those that were originally on the VN forum dating back to the early 2000's. In other words, no new members. Just the same people from years ago and we're all aging.
Next we will be discussing e-bikes and how they help with our 80-year old knees. Topics on AARP memberships and senior discounts at IHOP. Think I started on the VN forum back in 2002 or so, thus only 25 at the time.
Good group of people we have here!! Just don't tell Everton FC or Aluminum Frog about it.

I met someone on blood thinners a long time ago that told me that she didn't ride super far away from population centers, in case emegency services had to get to her.

I can identify as being in the aged group. I turned 79 last August. I have my share of minor health issues. No problems with my knees. I purchased an E bike last December. I got tired of climbing steep hills going 4MPH and gasping for air like a fish out of water. E Bikes are fun. I have a Trek Domane + LT with Ultegra Di2, carbon wheels, disc brakes. It weighs a ton, 37 pounds with battery in place. It weighs as much as my old two bikes together. I don't ride much during the winter, my old bones don't handle the cold that well. I do long walks with my lab who thinks he is a 2 year old kid. Better option for an E bike. Drop 15 pounds or so. Easier said than done.

Yes, same here, hoping to be in as good form as my parents who are now 80 and 81, close to zoot. Still walking and e-biking regularly. Been noticing the gradual decline in their speed and distance but the upshot is they're still going. And of course my dad trying to keep up with the imbibing of Pastis at my sisters place haha. He got the go ahead from my mom for just that week, normally he's on a pretty tight health regime.

"That's not a walking cane, that's called a spine young man." O.C.
A stick up your ass does not make a spine. Nor does an illness or injury make one spineless. Those who have not had to experience such things need to refrain from speaking, else they come across as jackasses.
