So I have always had problems with my feet falling asleep in my cycling shoes. I have played with position, different shoes, different inserts, blah, blah, blah. I have always thought it to be pressure related. However, I just got done with a great training ride in the upstate NY hills. I did Muscle Tension work in my 53-12 up every hill. I almost fell over several times but my feet never felt better and I am pretty sure this is the most pressure I have ever had on my feet. So what gives? is it rotational? Are my socks too thick? why are my feet falling asleep?

Hey Brian,

I hope this isn't the obvious but I have found that how tight my shoes are really plays a big part. Sometimes my feet don't swell as much so they can cope with extra tension and other times I need to be back off the strap mid ride to keep the feeling.

Hope this helps.

Is it because your feet are getting cold? I've posted about this on another forum, and it seems that a lot of us find the ventilation in cycling shoes a little too much if we're not blessed with hot weather.
