Phinney must be in good condition to come in third on Stage 2 to retain the leaders jersey with these guys. Will this be his breakout year?  http://www.cyclingfans.com/node/10866

there's that fine line of testing the legs and getting a good result under the belt and being too fast in February.

Phinney's no dummy though. Hope to see him mixing it up when it counts in the classics.

I thought the same thing. I was checking the overall finishing ordering, wondering where Cavendish dropped to (still wondering...) and saw Phinney up there. Oh my.

I was just thinking about how we (I) sometimes forget that even though we see many of these guys as specialists who can "only" win certain types of races/finishes, they're still great cyclists, or they wouldn't be PROs.

Now, that's not to say anything of Phinney's hair or fashion choices...
