(Omega-Pharma)  In fact, that Omega-Pharma was all over the race today, Dwars door Vlaanderen.  They got Nikolas Maes into the initial 23 man break and he held on as it whittled down to 8.  When the break came apart on the Paterberg, it was Nikki Terpstra who powered past all.  A 4 man chase with Valverde and Devolder was marked by Gert Steegmans.  And when Nick Nuyens, a former winner, tried to bridge, he was marked by Tom Boonen.

Classic and VERY smart racing on the part of O-P.  Team racing at its best and team racing that isn't just a parade of zombies glued to their power meters carrying out orders from their earpieces.  Just good tactics as might have been spelled out by a coach 40 years ago.

The season where we get to watch one of the all-time classics teams do their thing in a world where fans live and die classics.  (Belgium fans and the races of Belgium and northern France.)

I love it!

I enjoy spring and the smaller stage races more than the big tours as I have gotten older. Guys are willing to give it a go that normally you never see at the front.
