Hockey let's goalies do some really cool custom paint jobs, is there a UCI rule against custom helmets for riders? It would look cool in the over head shots. Make it easier to pick out different riders on the same team. Seems like in TTs some of them do that , I was thinking about road races. Might be good for business

I think we have seen a few custom painted helmets but the don't seem common amongst the cycling crowd as the motor sports do.

Master50, I think the personalized helmet thing would be HUGE if done on a large scale.
It would only take on team to do it well for the idea to catch on.

Kieth we do see downhillers and BMX riders with custom painted lids and I think TT helmets and many of the newer Aero helmets getting custom paint but all the holes and the amount of exposed foam likely presents some challenges because of the possible interactions of paint and foam. A paint with any acetone would dissolve the foam. I don't know much about paint chemistry but my motorcycle helmet warrantee does not allow painting yet we see motorcycle helmets custom painted.
Certainly teams get custom colours bt they are usually coloured plastic rather than painted so it is done in the factory right into the plastic covers. I wonder the impact of a paint job that can use all the vent holes. Maybe a catlike could be painted like a wasps nest egg cone

Yet another advantage of aero road lids....bigger canvas for custom paint jobs.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Totally doable.
