16k to go; the race just opened up over that last climb.
Awesome roads, like a mini Lombardia.
All in HD baby! |

Wiggins is gapped. Cadel driving it.
And Wiggo down in that turn.
Sella down a second time; major slick roads. |

I think that is it for Wiggins, he's riding down very very slowly; confidence shot |

As I said yesterday, Wiggo was never in the game mentally. |

The other GC contenders have to take advantage while they can. Hansen rode a clean ride.

Pretty funny seeing big dude Hansen drop Sella on a climb. It was mostly Sella going backward though. |

O.C. anytime you take a fall, even if I you were not hurt except for your pride it does take something out of you. Today it was last man standing, that's why I said,Hansen rode a clean ride. |

wow... just read the live, but seems like wiggo has reverted to form - no confidence, and missing that extra little bit. wonder what gives? And, i hope he shuts me up with the rest of the giro for excitement sake, but am not hopeful. |

Pike, Wiggins' head has not been in the game all Giro. Look at all the crashes he has been behind. Is that the riding of a winner? This race he needed two bike changes. Huh? (Remember Contador struggling with a rear wheel so out of true it rubbed the brakes in the Tour a few years ago, knowing he could manage and minimize loses, rather than risking stopping and losing minutes. That's what a winner looks like.) Now Nibali went for it. He attacked and crashed, but still fininshed in good shape. (I haven't seen results below the top 10 so I don't know if NIbali lost any time, but it wasn't much and I don't know where Wiggins finished.) Ben |

Ben - That is what I mean by reverting to form. Before 2012 he was the guy who was "really ready, this was the year, blh blah blah" then he always ended out of the picture by stage 8. And in this year's giro, same thing. I agree that Nibali is a whole other kett;e of fish. |

I was saying before the Giro started that Wiggo wouldn't be a factor....but just thought he would crack in the high mountains. Never expected this kind of performance. I don't know if it is him second-guessing his TdF decision, him truly lacking form and knowing it or what.....but his head is CLEARLY not in the game. |
