I got a kick out of this.  Bernard Hinault spoke his mind re: LA and ruffled a few feathers including Pat McQuaid, Robert Millar and Jörg Jaksche.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/hinault-criticised-by-former-peers-for-his-lance-armstrong-comments

I won't call Hinault a saint by any means (!!) but I applaud him for speaking his mind.  Yes, Hinault was not above screwing competitors, but he did it on the road, not through others, not through tipping off UCI re others doping and using the legal system to screw those who spoke of what they saw and making them unemployable.

I find it funny that McQuaid has issues with Hinault's statement.  No surprise at all, but still.  The greatest French cyclist of the past 35 years, a five time Tour winner, calling out the man that McQuaid and his predecessor protected through all of his wins.  McQuaid and others can say that EPO level doping was well established before LA but in my book , that doesn't give UCI a pass to ignore what was in front of them.

Can someone remind what race organization Hinault works for?

Sorry, this sounds a tad hollow coming from the guy who famously told -7 "No gifts!!".

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Just some smack talk from Hinault and a tit for tat for Armstrong's "can't win tour clean" comment. Hinault being Hinault, no more, no less.

He also gives the journos heck for not going after other sports ("if you were real journalists...") and says that if he'd been racing in 2014 tour he would have had some fun "breaking the habits..."

Two peas in a pod,Hinault and LA. Watched Slaying the Badger two nights ago, same A type as Armstrong, not that there is anything wrong with that but he should let sleeping dogs lie. Like he didn't know PEDs were being used. Is it any wonder Lemond became kinda paranoid about partnerships, business and otherwise.

" he should let sleeping dogs lie." Well said bobswire....time to move on, one of cyclings biggest problem is going back, testing old samples, stuff like this, etc......

Dude that documentary was WILD!

The interview at the top of Alpe d'Huez is crazy. Hinault casually slamming a Heineken while telling the interviewer that he has no intention of helping Lemond with Lemond sitting right next to him.

The look on Greg's face is classic.
