Well it seems this Giro has brutally exposed Wiggins' big weakness: descending in the wet. Here we go again.

OC, I agree. But I would also add it has exposed another weakness: his head. He is not dealing with adversity very well. In fact, he is riding scared a la Schleck!

Wiggins is projecting A. Schleck.

Wiggins managed to catch back on but he can't be too happy with this day.

Hesjedal looks to be toast; hopefully he can recover on rest day tomorrow.

Another strong finish for Evans; he's looking better by the day. Pretty funny in that his Giro start was a bit of a desperate move to get him in TdF shape. That might spell good things for van Garderen in July.

I'm not a huge Wiggins fan, but comparing him to Andy Schleck is overstating it a bit.

Wow bad day for Ryder. The guy from "American Flyers" Belkov was that his son that won today?

Schleck would complain about the conditions. Therein lies the crucial difference.

I agree. It seems unfair to compare someone that is cautious descending in treacherous conditions to someone that is struggling with their fears after a serious crash. Team Sky was right on it, in their usual professional manner, and pulled Wiggins back to the main group; even though Astana and BMC started drilling it. I'm not a big Wiggins fan, but IMO he still looks like a strong contender. It looks like we will have to wait for the big climbs to see if anyone can separate themselves.

So far, this has been a great race.

I think that RH is sick.  He had great form and now can't hang?

Katoosh is having a great season!  I'm glad to see that after the UCI's little stunt.

Its a bit crazy that a brit isn't better in the rain.

I wonder if Ryder is paying for his efforts in stage 3?

the thing that impresses me the most is Nibali's slightly un-natural ascension from top 10 finisher to world beater. He looked very human next to Contador's perhaps superhuman form in 2011. Now Nibali himself looks a little superhuman. Just sayin.....

3 words:  Track pursuit rider.

If I went down the descents that these guys are coming down, in the conditions that they faced yesterday, I would need a new set of brake pads at the bottom of each descent, and you'd still, today, be waiting for me to finish the stage.

1st up, last down is my motto.
