...will it end for Froome on Stage 3 (with todays circuit around Huy) or on Stage 4 (the cobbles)? http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/04/news/froomes-fleche-wallonne-another-one-day-outing-to-forget_367557 Nibali could be laughing again by the time we hit France. Then again, Quintana got through today just fine albeit anonymous and also did well on cobbles couple weeks back.

July is all Quintana.....he is gonna crush everyone once they get to the mountains.
Won't even be close. mark it down....this is gonna be a snoozefest (unless he crashes or gets sick).
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

What about Contador? I know he's incredibly frustrated with Tinkov but he's proven to be exceptionally talented. Does anyone else think Oleg Tinkov is similar to Michael Ball of Rock Racing? Guy seems to be involved just because he loves the fame.
If it wasn't cycling and we were talking about heavyweight championship boxers, there is no way in hell Oleg would be screaming out about his team not performing. He would be scared to death the guys would crush him! But since we're talking about tiny 135lb climbers, it's all fair game.
I'm in favor of any winner since Wiggins is gone from the picture.

Lets see how Contador gets through Giro...the double is his goal this year.
Froome, even though he's already had some tremendous achievements, given how last year panned out for him and how this year's been going so far, I see a potential danger he'll go the way of the Andy. Once that doubt creeps between the ears, strange things happen.

Yeah, I think Contador is gonna end up on the rocks of the Giro / Tour Double Voyage. Just don't think you can do it anymore....not with how hard the racing has become in the Giro (both in terms of the course and the competition). He'll probably be Quintana's biggest challenger, but is likely gonna come up wanting on some stage. Plus, he still needs a TT tossed in to help him seal his advantages.
Even though Froome is a great climber, I don't think he has the capacity to handle repeated attacks form explosive guys like Quintana or Contador.

Don't they have drugs for the wear and tear of cycling? Surely there must be something available to enhance performance in these weeks-long events.

Wow! I logged in! I might even be back!
Hi guys! I've been lurking since I got a new computer and software last fall. Dkri is right; I've been hanging out at Bikeforums but this has always been home.
And on topic: I would love to see Contador win the Giro, still have it for the Tour and have a head to head with Quintana. And since both those guys have bike skills as well as the legs, see them pull away from Froome, maybe on a hairy descent, maybe in some hard cross winds.

I'd love to see Contador do the double, but I think the odds are miniscule that he could recover and win Le Tour. I wouldn't count out Froome so quickly, although I agree Quintana should be favored. Only two months to go.
