Valverde is one of the most complete riders of last decade. That was a tricky finish having to reel in Moreno and Rodriguez on his wheel.
Watch Alaphillipe in next years; two second spots behind Valverde this week; French cycling is back.
The weather and wet roads brought back memories from when I rode this as cyclosportif many many years ago. I dropped my compatriots on Redoute and solod to finish at a much slower speed of course. The descent into Liege was brutal cold.

Brambilla took a mean spill yesterday. He tweeted an x-ray of post surgery to his collar bone. Looks like no Giro for him :-(

I really can't look past Valverde's unrepentant past.....his is a blight from the worst period in the sport's history.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

This one's for you CK; written before race they nailed it (except Dan Martin ended up next to road again)

Nah....I don't hate the guy, but that doesn't mean I have to root for him. There is a difference between indifference and hate. I just shrug my shoulders and accept it. He'll be gone soon anyway....
Similarly, I don't have any respect for Floyd Mayweather. He is a great fighter, but his choices and actions in life mean that I chose not to root for him, nor support him.
Side note - Had Valverde simply been even the smallest bit remorseful (even if it was just an act), many people would feel differently about him, I suspect.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

I always had that with Millar, even though he was supposedly remorseful it seemed made up. In contrast Valverde has always struck me as muy sympatico and so I've kept rooting for him...nice to see Sutherland confirm it.
