Riding home from my morning (before work ride) and saw those two in a van at the stop light I was at. It was a bit of a surprise.... Even though the race for the Tour of CA stage is finishing about a mile from my house, working today so wasn't really in my thoughts. A bunch of guys in the area are taking the day off to ride out to see the pros come by, but I have to work. The stage today is along a lot of our regular routes so it's fun that the route is very familiar. Defintely not easy and they are in for a tough day. I'll take the morning off to see the start tomorrow am, so that should be fun. I'll post any good pics. J

Poll, when you saw them did you...
1. Want to get their autographs?
2. Want to puke?
3. Wonder if LA was hiding in the back of the van?
4. Wondered where Bobke was?
5. None of the above?

What O.C. said below.

6. Tell them to STFU when they're on TV cause their inane commentary is mindboggling.

Bob FTW ... #2

I would love to run into those teabaggers. I still recall someone posted a pic of Liggett when he f i n a l l y admitted that he fell of the LA deep throat bus - looking rather hapless

Those guys are an embarrassment to the sport IMHO. - I'd love to tell them that

I thought that they didn't actually show for the race. Figured their "commentary" for basically a laugh track

They are a drinking game at this point

Were you close enough to tell if they are puppets or marionettes?

First off, you guys are a tough crowd ha ha.

I guess my reaction was "wow - I guess there is going to be a pro tour race here today". And second thought was something like - damn it, can't I take the day off?

Usually when I listen to the cycling feeds, if in English, it's Roche who is hard to understand. And for cross, it's often in flemish.

For the Giro, I try RAI - keeping it local.

I guess for the Tour of CA, I should see if Spiccoli has a feed somewhere on the Internet. That would be worth watching.

on stage 2 (?) coverage sherwen said something about voight wanting liggett's job, and liggett surprisingly said yes it was perhaps time for him to move on. all of them, with their head-in-the-sand attitude for years, constitutes good cause for them to pass the baton.

I just saw on a local forum that Liggett is doing a book tour. Some dude was selling his ticket below face value for $60.

How much would you pay to meet this relic?

whereas i once enjoyed liggett & sherwen's commentary (years ago) i find the sound of their voices now grates on me like fingers on a chalkboard. could they have been so naive or stupid as to have not followed countryman walsh's storyline? no, they rode that gravy train and then like rats jumped ship to proclaim their surprise. opportunists of the worst kind; i would pay a dollar to attend the book signing to give liggett a piece of my mind.

+1 Entheo, back in the early to mid 80's I actually liked Liggett. Now listening to those two dolts is right up there with waterboarding.
