After reading the stories on Cyclingnews & Cycling Tips it's difficult for me to form an opinion or favor one side (ASO) over the other (UCI). Seems they both have an argument. The UCI is, as usual, going for more/tighter control. ASO is resisting and while I can understand, I don't know if giving a giant like ASO that much power is a good thing either. Thoughts?

Feels like we've been here before with ASO telling the UCI that it doesn't care for advice on how to run its races. From a fan's perspective, I can't see how this changes anything. The WT was not at capacity in the number of teams and they will still be motivated to invite the best teams to their races. It might actually be more interesting if there is more competition to get into ASO races instead of teams taking it for granted that they will be invited. The loser is probably the teams because they are not going to be seeing revenue sharing any time soon and the franchise value of the teams also has instantly dropped.

Meh...two douchebags getting into a pissing match. Don't really care that much, either way...though I guess I wuld side slightly with ASO.
Just a case of brinkmanship. Plenty of time for the UCI to fold.....which they will.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Tinkov made the right decision to pull out in 2017 and I bet he knew what was coming. Smart man.
Cycling, and especially teams and riders, is f@#ked. Cookson is cooked and done. Maybe the UCI should bring back a tough guy to keep everyone in check, like good old Hein, bouahahaha!

What's the best way out of this?

Hope that Chinese dude buys the whole sad lot. Right now we`re down to darts level with a bunch of breakaway leagues.

That approach did not work well for Indy car racing.
