We may have to just start calling them Almost-Quickstep....

They had the sprint train in were control today at De Panne in the final kilometers, but then missed another one, Vivianni hung on, and sprinted past Kittel right at the line.
Vivianni is damn fast though......

The problem is that they aren't "quickstep". That goes to Vivianni (Sagan, Cancellara, etc.)

It's Etixx-Thundering Herd. The problem is those quick-stepping cheetahs.

Needed a sweeper on Kittel's wheel

So Etixx-QS should take one car off their leadout train and hitch it at the back as a caboose? Makes sense to me.

Too bad they didn't have a sprinter like Cav. DOH!

Depends on the the type of sprinter. Cav would have great leadouts and was often dumped off in the front at less than 200 meters. A quick acceleration and he could break the draft of someone on his wheel or at least accelerate as fast as anyone behind him. From what I have seen of Kittel, he takes a little longer to wind it up which can leave him vulnerable to someone sitting on his wheel. It's also possible that he may not have the same top end that he had in 2014(yet).
Different sprinters require different leadouts. McEwen didn't need much of one, Cipo used a long high speed leadout. You adjust your train and tactics to your finisher.
