Been thinking about this quite a bit these past couple of days, especially with some of the riders misfortune, Contador, Porte, etc.......
But what I have really thought about was LA's run of 7 TDF's, sure he was doped to the gils and so was everyone else. The real impressive part was his incredible string of good luck on that run, it's pretty amazing when you think about it really, he never really had and severe bad luck, untimely crashes or anything, he had some bad days, sure, but still

Could it be that the Devil (and I don't mean Didi) keeps his word?

Porte was bad luck. Contador wasn't. It was inattention. That was pretty stupid for a guy of his calibre.
