The men's RR was epic. Damned shame about nibali and Porte crashing, but very worthy podium nonetheless.
I hope the women's race is as hard fought. |

What a race! Small teams, no Sky/Postal/Discover to ru(i)n the show. Just exciting racing for 6 hours. We had a classics hard man winning (and not someone you would ever expect to see winning with the major climbs and tropical heat). Then no major cycling countries until 5,6 and 7th places. I like this real racing. Maybe UCI can learn a few tricks from the Olympics. (That 's a strange concept.) Ben |

Wait.....Belgium is not a major cycling country? C'mon now.... Great race....huge props to GvA for being able to hang with the flyweights on that course. |

I believe thy had no radios.
Van A did it mostly on his own. Last tough guy standing. |

Great course. Instant classic. Too bad Rio is so far away to put on the calendar. Makes me wonder if Sagan could have done what Van A did. I was rooting for Nibbles. Too bad, but great race. Spain and GBr really disappointed. |

Now THAT was a race! No radios, Bottle ejecting cobble section, nail biting descents, great course overall. Really wanted to see Nibali take the gold. |

Awesome course worthy of making this an annual race. Beauty of small team racing. Deserved winner. Continue to question Sagan not starting. |

The Dutch woman's crash was horrific. Hope she's ok. |

You can't make this up...the women's race provided just as much roller coaster down to wire excitement as men's race. Awesome. van Vleuten sounds like she's OK after that horror crash. |

Another climber left out to die on the final run in. Cruel course, cruel sport. Saw something on a fan at the finish line that mad me laugh: a Dutch fan with an orange t shirt (of course), with "Clemson Tigers" across the front. |

Those final kms along beach when you're in full sight of pursuers are really cruel. This is an almost perfect all-round course, need to ride cobbles, climb well, descend well, TT, sprint. BTW Ben - both UCI and IOC were involved in design |

Heartbreaking watching Mara almost make it. But I love that she put it all out there. Bike racing at its best. She has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. The Dutch rode a great team race. And with no radios! They fully deserved the win. Watching Vos ride as a domestique. And that team making I believe every significant move of the race. Ben |
