It just occurred to me that in sailing, former gold medal winners get to have the Olympic circles on their sails as long as they are sailing that class of sailboat.  I grew up sailing at a yacht club where the senior (and best) Star sailor won the Star class gold in '48.  He always sailed with those circles.  (Hilary Smart)

So, can a gold medal winning cyclist wear the circles, say on his sleeve, the rest of his racing career?  Only in that event like the WC stripes?

And if they can, well then, double d*** that Mara didn't quite make it yesterday.  My sister.  My much more talented, much better looking and climbing and completely unrelated sister.

Sammy Sanchez rode around with a bunch of gold accents after his win but nothing official that I am aware off.

No, they cannot wear the rings.

Pascal Richard did it for awhile, but the IOC shut it down eventually.

Bettini briefly raced in a gold jersey, but I don't recall how long he did so.

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!
