We’re in contact with the French authorities and with Luc Eisenga of AIGCP to find the best solution for the safety of the riders and for the race. The ideal would be to do the whole stage but we’ll see.”

The first vehicles are reaching the finish. Looks like we'll have coverage of last 350 m only. Some crazy guy who apparently rides every stage ahead of peleton actually seems to have gone up and down Sestriere before the course change was announced.

Watched it on BeInsports..only showed the finish. Bummer...nice highlights of previous stages though. Tomorrows weather could bring the same...

Remember when Armstrong claimed to have "gifted" Pantani that epic stage, seems Nibali uses a little bit more tact. Even though I believe Armstrong did hold back for Pantani. Quote: "Nibali appeared to soft pedal close to the finish line, allowing his fellow Italian to earn the victory." “It was a long, hard day. Very cold, especially at the end in the snow,” Nibali said. “This is a long Giro, not over yet. It was a good test at the end. While gifting is a nice gesture, what happens if Nibali loses the GdI by 7 seconds? That gift becomes a big mistake.

At first it looked gifted to me, later they showed a different closeup shot of Nibali close to the finish line, and the expression on his face was one of agony; now I am not so sure anymore
