Q-S has stepped down as primary sponsor but the window company, Deceuninck, has stepped up. Sounds like the team is in a good place for a few more years.
I feel like I really shouldn't be rooting for this dynasty but I like them. Seems like a team with a good heart and good feelings within the team. They race a lot of races to win. not just certain select ones. They have stayed remarkably headline free, choosing instead to mark the sports pages with results. (Yes, Tom Boonen did make a few headlines. He was a rock star whose axe was a bike. He did mature, stayed with Q-S and became a real asset to cycling as a whole, not just the team.)
Q-S lost Terpstra before this deal was closed. Too bad, but I hope he thrives and Q-S has plenty of other weapons. I hope Gaveria stays on. (And ouch! BTDT. Broken collarbones suck. In true Q-S fashion, workhorse Richeze - second locomotive of the Q-S leadout train - took it on himself to win after finding no one left to lead out.)
The spring Classics coming up. Just not quite soon enough!
