Eli Tomac won three Supercross races the other night, the last of which came when a teammate waved him ahead on the last lap to secure the triple win and a cool $1,000,000 prize-- the largest in Supercross history.

I know it's motorcycle racing but the name Tomac ought to be know to anyone over the age of 40, and a 1m prize harkens back the the Triple Crown that was won by HWSNNB via some back room dealing. The difference is Eli's win came from a team mate, not a suitcase full of cash.

If Eli won all three a fan chosen at random also got $1,000,000 so random fan was pretty pumped to see Tomac pull that off.

Random side note-- with one of the companies I work with I get pit passes to SuperCross and some other fun stuff. Almost all the guys have bikes on trainers that they use to warm up between heats. It's cool to see these guys on high end road bikes.

Random side note #2-- a couple years ago I was at a sales meeting and three or four of the pro moto road race guys were there. These guys have the same build as grand tour riders-- zero body fat, small frame, 135#, etc.

We were mountain biking and most of my fellow reps are sluggards, but two or three reps that could ride plus a couple of the pro moto guys were on a non-technical climb; long enough that the heavier guys had faded. One of the moto guys was next to me and we were chatting... I'm getting increasing deeper into red zone and not doing much talking when he said, "Well, gotta go" and click/click, a couple more gears and he was freaking gone!
It was a fun experience.

IIRC, Eli was on a dirt bike when he was still in single digits, age wise. Tomac legally adopted him after he married his mom.

Awesome to see him succeeding....I'm sure he made his parents proud!
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!
