OK, not the official TdU until Tuesday, but the TdU Classic was today.

Always a challenge trying to learn new riders on different teams, new teams, new jerseys, etc.

And good lord...WTF is that ugly kit for EF?

TdU Classic? You mean the office park Cat 3 crit complete with last lap crash?

Spent the week at McCormack Place hawking boats last week... good times

that would be the one!! Viviani was hilarious in that crash...caught up in the middle of it and he basically just walks off his bike as if he was on a Sunday stroll.

Are you still coming up for that other show in Gurnee?

I'll be at the Northern Illinois Boat Show in Grayslake at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

Feb 28, March 1&2. Not sure which days I'll be there. Most likely Fri and Sat.

Right...Grayslake. Fairgrounds are only about 5 miles from the CK abode.

You bringing a bike? I can get you set up for some rides at our training center if want (assuming it will be too cold to get outside). Could probably even dig up a loaner bike if you need....

I don't think the Cat 3 crit counted, at least the cyclingnews live feed indicates the season starts NOW. Also, it's currently 36C / 97F in Adelaide. That'll be a shock to system for many.

Time zone wise this is perhaps the best event of the year. I get home, have dinner, clean up, and by time I'm settled they are getting near finish of stage. Caught the last 15k yesterday. Beautiful undulating course and some good racing. Looking forward to Corkscrew (did anyone see report of some 70 year olds e-bike going up in flames on that hill the other day and almost starting a bush fire?) and Richie's hill over next days.

Cyclingfans has a link to 7Mate which I've been casting from my phone to big screen TV. Only negative is regular very strange Aussie commercials.
