That photo was actually taken in the spring. Not bare legs but pantyhose colored legwarmers! The next style. Just you wait and see.

Sofia is just awesome... love her attitude, love her approach to racing. She has been on the TrainerRoad podcast a few times and that is always a must-listen for me. She did the rescheduled Cape Epic last year with the TR CEO, but he crashed out on the second day....she just got on with the racing solo, making the most of everyday, despite having to start at the back of the group. She is definitely worth a follow on IG.

Met Sarah Sturm last year at The Rift....we are at the COVID testing site and ran into her and her boyfriend dropping off their bikes at a shop next door. We chatted for about 20-30 minutes. Again, just an awesome person. She had stopped to help a rider who went down pretty hard on a descent (not me! 😜)....despite the fact she was leading the women's race. Got going again and was inside the last KM, about to win, when her legs completely locked up and she was passed in sight of the line and lost the race. She said it cost her some big bonuses...felt really bad for her, but she just shrugged it off.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

They've all been suffering like mad in heat, last five days at OTGG. I'm sure more tan and dust was added. Velonews had some stage reports and I've seen the strava reports of a local female racer. Seems they made it even harder than the inaugural event Ben and I attended and it's now a proper race with a stellar field on both men's and women's side. The climbing is OK but the infinite sand, holy hell. This is when I was still riding the first iteration of the Diverge, limited to 32 mm tires and imperfect gear range, which made for interesting times. Frame died on final stage. I am now onto frame 3 which is very good. But of course, if there was to be a next time (there won't be a next time LOL) it would be ridden on the Search for a rock solid experience.

I went for a late morning ride yesterday. 92F when I started. Got home, looked at my two outdoor thermometers. Bo Derek weather! Perfect 10s. In fact, perfect tens squared.
