kittel is proving to be no fluke. ProCycling mag featured him some time ago, saying his performances are ones to watch. the photo with cav staring at him as marcel pips him on the line almost says "oh... you again":

I'm loving the sprint finishes this year!

- Argos Shimano TDF summary -

stage win, check.
yellow jersey, check.
2nd win, check.
hat trick, check.
drag 80 kilos over mountains, back seat on autobus.

Very pleased to see Kittel get 2 wins head-to-head against the big boys. A lot of people were poo-poohing his first win since so many (all) of the sprint specialists weren't there. Leaving aside the fact that avoiding crashes is part of sprinting, he has since answered those critics well.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

It's funny how sprinters come and go. Zabel, Cipo, Petachi, Cav. They all look unbeatable for a time. Then someone else comes along. OPQS is in the process of re-arming their sprint train for next year so Cav may go back to dominating again.

The guys on Argos seem to be pretty laid back.

article's from january of 2012, re: black light blood treatments. wouldn't be surprised if the treatments involved having hendrix playing in the background and someone smoking a doobie. but anyway, back to today's stage -- i can't remember ever seeing anyone come off of cav's wheel in the final meters to beat him. no wonder he looked so surprised.

if you're gonna google him re: doping, might as well add some facts.

2012 article about a visit to a clinic in 2007 and 2008 when he was 19 or 20 years old. WADA put the blacklight blood rule in place in 2011.
