Yesterday at 6:20 am as I was lining up for the SM100 I noticed both Team Sky and Team RadioShack kits in the front row. My first thought was "that's pretty uncool" guys wear full pro-kits to a mtb race. Then it dawned on me. Those tiny little guys are the real deal. It was Ben King and Joe Dombrowski. They were joined by Jeremiah Bishop, Chris Tanguay, Sue Haywood and 600 others. Needless to say that was the last I saw of Ben and Joe. Ben King edged out local favorite, Jeremiah BIshop to take the win. Joe DNF'd. After he won the race and before I finished. Ben walked up to my 11 year old and had a 1 on 1 conversation with him. He asked him if he rode bikes and a bunch of other questions - basically encouraged him to race. Thomas knew he was a pro from the RadioShack kit, but didn't know his name. My first 100 mile MTB race. It rained a few times, we had some muddy sections, and a lot of climbing. I won the Clydesdale division which was cool because I really didn't have good sensations.

Yes, great story and you must be pretty decent racer to use the word sensations.

Was SuperFrenchie there? 100 miles would almost be long enough to warm him up. (oh and I'm curious what he thinks about the possible US-Fr alliance on Syria, who would'a thought

No Superfrenchie. Haven't heard/seen much from him lately. His MoCo Epic event is coming up soon, so I'm sure he's running full tilt preparing for that. Seems more likely that the US and France can agree on a strategy than the dems and repubs.
