We will now have a moment of silence while the flags are lowered to half-mast

Nys on anything but a Colnago is just wrong

Let the mourning commence

maybe a Colnago painted to look like a trek?

Here's some better Nys news:
http://www.cyclingnews.com/blogs/eurocrosscamp-xi/highs-and-lows-of-a-cross-season

A few days later, all the EuroCrossCamp kids and I had the honor of a Q & A session with the world champion Sven Nys. Meeting him in person was a great experience and we all got to ask, arguably, the greatest cyclo-cross racer of all time any question we wanted. He is the embodiment of a true champion. Confident, Humble, and disciplined. I learned a lot from him in just half an hour. A big thanks goes out to Geoff for arranging this and Sven for taking the time out of a very busy schedule to talk to a bunch of aspiring American kids.

he seems decent. it's hard to get a read on him (or any of the other riders) in pre-race interviews since he's speaking flemish (?) but he comes across as likeable. i wonder if trek will make him use disks?

That's it, he won his first race on it. Wasted little time. I like it.

His first FULL race with disc brakes. In Overijse (on his old steed) he only had one bike with discs at his disposal so changing bikes during race meant different brake system.

On the Isospeed system on the Boone: "a system made for an old man" (wink, wink)

Going forward he will have several bikes with and without discs at his disposal so he can chose best system for conditions.

I like it. I think it is the kind of bike I will move toward. disk equipped, less drop Seat to bars, more comfortable, room for Fenders and big tires. Great LD ride with plenty of utility yet maintaining a racing bike efficiency. That it is a Trek? I have had a real thing for Colnago since 1986 and I have to get over Nys" switch to the Dark side.
Actually I think that Colnago has the road racing bike perfected in that I think he knows the bike so well he could build you your perfect road bike but. CX, MTBs, are not his particular Niche and he is still a smaller Manufacturer with less R&D resources available. My recent purchase of a Trek superbly 100 29er is a clear example of how well Trek can make a bike and how quickly they can improve the performance of their bikes. It could take me a lot longer to warm up to the company but this bike is attractive and shows some potential.

The Colnago is Rob Peeters. Colnago is sponsoring his new team Vastgoedservice - Golden Palace.

Well, so much for the "disc will never get ridden at the highest level by guys like Nys" argument.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

Yeah that was a pretty dominating race for TREK. The Colnago tried to stay on TREKs wheel but TREK was too dominating and left the Colnagno's in the mud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJy3FIivu1M

the bike is not too bad, and I hate Treks. as for Sven, that guy could win on a tricycle
interesting side by side geometries, the fork on that Trek looks a bit raked out, sloping down tube vs a traditional geometry on the Colnago
Who is the serious looking Secret Service dude holding the Trek? : )
