Got into the KTA trails at E. Burke. Fantastic experience. I rode with four of my brothers and four of my nephews. The trails are really well-maintained and clearly marked. The maps show the skill-level and differentiate single-track/double-track for each trail. Even though it rained all night and right up until ~½ hour before we started, the trails had a few puddles and wet roots, but had mostly drained. I was clearly the most novice of the group, but I only fell over three or four times (if you count by the dozen). After I adjusted the pedal release force, I stayed upright for longer periods. Thanks all for the advice.

Great! Sounds like you had a good time. It's a surreal experience to drive into a little podunk town in northern VT and almost every other car has a couple of $7,000 mountain bikes on the roof.

vtguy, I visited friends from my racing days eons ago who have lived outside a small Vermont town 30 years in a house they built. Looks like a shack from the outside. Nice, very comfortable but quite rural inside. The attached car shed and bike/house workspace each had probably 10 nice bikes hanging from the rafters.
