Merckx rode Colnago's in the 70's when he was with Team Molteni. He rode a Colnago with a Windsor head badge when he broke the world record in '72. Apparently made old man Colnago furious, and rightly so. All this talk is making my dusty old Master X Light hanging in the garage very angry. Gads I paid $3000 for my MXL with Campy Record/Chorus mix in 2002. Price for frame set now is $3400!!!!!!

I think a good reason would be that the Molteni Orange has been done to death. Another one would be just kinda "meh".
