lsd - I'm not sure how much gimmick those tubes are. It is a fairly stiff bottom bracket area, but "sprinter stiff", I don't know. I just think they're pretty ; ) |

Not the greatest quality photo, but I already have it on Photobucket. |

That's a beauty, Nick. What part of the country are you in? Makes me think of San Diego. Keep trying, Smokey - make sure it's the image link you're pasting - like Nick's. |

Smokey - It's the 4th link down on the share links section to the right of your photo on Photobucket. If you did that, I'm not sure what is wrong. Comparing your link to Nick's, it seems you have all lower case letters in your link and some other differences. |

Huck: Nice bikes too. I'm in Albuquerque, NM. The bars are even higher now due my approaching 50, so my bike is looking as racer cool anymore. (Well, and lack of discipline to stretch regularly.) Never been to San Diego, but assuming similar arid conditions. My old "back east" friends who've never really travelled, think it's like Phoenix here, but we're at 5000 feet. It does get hot in the summer, but cold in the winter too. Smokey: Yeah, in Photobucket, when you click the share thing, one is named "image", that's the one. Signed up for a summer course. Not riding it much for the next month, but using the commuter daily for the short trip. It was an excuse to get some Nitto old 3-speed style bars for the super convenient, wearing street clothes type of position. N |

Ha! Literally, as I post this, now I see Smokey's bike! Not sure if it was just a cache thing. Cool. Well, my father lives in Bradenton, FL, that's what this makes me think of. I'm a fan of the no-nonsense road bike. N |

Nick, great post! This could be an entire thread! What makes a road bike "nonsense" versus a "no-nonsense"? Our beloved and admired forumite Bobswire might say "gears", but I'm asking for what is a more for the middle of the road philosophy here. aero wheels? frame material? electronic shifters? electronics of any kind (e.g. speedo)? graphics, bar tape, aesthetics of any kind? country of manufacture or design? seat color? who's riding the bike? Bars too high or low? You tell me
