The wife and I will be grandparents this year. The daughter does not want us to discuss on social media (ie, FB) since she has not informed people at work yet. I figured this would be a safe place to post since I'm busting to let people know. BTW, the trike/bike carrier works amazingly well. smokey

Congrats!!!! My wife and I are grandparents for the first time. I never thought I would be stoked about it, but I am. We had our second grandchild in May (a boy). The oldest one (also a boy) is in his 'terrible two's". Funny stuff happens.

P.S. It's o.k. to spoil them rotten. That's what grandparents are for!

Congratulations to you all, Smokey! In the past I could never care less if I ever became a grandmother or not. Then my granddaughter was born! She is 2½ years old now and is the light of our lives. She keeps us looking happily towards the future. And just when you think your grandchild couldn't possibly get any more adorable or fun, he or she will.

We found out: a grandson! Not that gender makes a difference in expectation or love, but discovering the gender makes this little person more defined and real. The only secret the daughter and son-in-law are keeping is name selection.
