When you train for and race CX your body gets used to 45 minutes of hard effort so doing a 60 mile/ 4800' climbing ride kicked my rear end in an epic fashion.

The 1700 calories my Garnim indicated I burned help negate a portion of Thursday's gluttony.

And the weird stuff you see in northern Arkansas never fails to amaze.
House on top of a 5 mile climb flying a huge confederate battle flag, it looked like Beauregard's headquarters.
Next up was the pickup towing a mule with a rope across a field.
Seriously... and the jokes just went nuts with the group, "So did the guys wife tell him to get his ass up here?"
...and on and on and on...

It was a fun day on the bike with about 3 dozen other knuckleheads who evidently hate shopping, college football, and setting out Christmas decorations.

Sounds like the guy was smart. Knew the mule was more reliable than his pickup.
