1. Cool that XC skiing has evolved enough that they get what cycling got 100++ years ago: massed start and what we now call Madisons are great fun to watch, and still athletically valid. Back in my day XC skiing was 100% endurance time trials. The hard core purists loved it, but beyond boring as a spectator sport. Imagine if track and field's 10k or marathon were run as a time trial. Who would watch it besides true believers? 2. The US XC team includes children (and maybe grandchildren) of guys I and I'll wager Ben bike raced against in Northern New England in the 70s and 80s. Massive Kudos to the current USA team members, and their parents. And gawd I'm old. 3. Thank you DVR. The NBC network coverage here in the US is a series of commercials interrupted by a few minutes of sport.

PS;
@OC Congrats to NL for domination in speed skating. Very impressive.
What happened to the US in speed skating? We used to be major players in this sport. Are the US skaters short on talent, doping, or something else?

Enjoyed the cross country but 70% of Norway team has asthma? The Swedes are not happy LOL.
Ski cross rocks and Canuck team rocked ski cross.
Didn't see any speed skating. There's like 9 pro teams in NL. Do other countries even have pro teams?

Wait....how did OC not see any speed skating? I believe it is national law that Dutch authorities can come and hunt you down now.
Did you guys see the Jessy Diggins finish in one of the women's XC events? Holy schitt....totally awesome!
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

PGS snowboard is on tonight; another favorite. Traditional ski races are so boring in comparison, except for slalom. Lots of good additions in recent years.
All of the skating races were put on NL morning time which meant middle of night Vancouver. Oh well. I have a bet going on with my kid, who'd win more Gold, Canada or NL. He was sweating it for a while LOL.

Americans do well in fast twitch events :-). No use for fast twitch in XC skiing back in the day.
