Local shop shutting down after 40+ years. The owner is sad and a little frustrated, but she's really been nice in letting me go through the cabinets and is super amenable to letting stuff go. Tons of odds and ends- da, sante, record, chorus, superbe pro stuff. Crank arms, hubs, bbs, brake levers. Not much in the way of complete groups, but close depending on make/model. Lemme know if there's anything you may be looking for in particular. Would be nice to help her get through this as expediently as possible. |

Wowee, let me take a look at the needs tonight. Possibly a lot of things on my list. Any brakes (v or cantilevers that work with road levers to start)? Crank/bb combos? regular brakes and brifters (105 or ultra; 9-speed)? pedals? |

I''ve had some nos bike parts. Nice. But not nearly as nice as the nos tubes in my amplifier. The bike bits are simply bike parts after that first ride. But getting the real '50s sound every time I play through that amp? Doesn't get much better. Ben |

I bought a serotta fit bike from her for a song. A little extravagant at this point in the game, but too good to pass up. |

I just looked at the thread again. Tubby rims? What kind are they? (I'd love to have some Fiamme Ergals or the like again!) Ben |

I am looking for some oldish 36 hole tub rims. I am flipping a circa 1973 road bike to a single speed and need rims from that era. Thanks. |

Inferno7, not to take this thread off track, but the biggest problem with bike shops is that as retail has gotten more savvy, it has become harder and harder for the older shops (and some new ones too, I see shops open and close all the time around here) to compete with big box retail for the avg cyclist. Add in not educating their sales staff on product and how to ask for sales, and things can get bad real quick. |
