The only reason I ever joined the old forum IIRC was because you had an election going on and per usual discussions were wildly interesting.
Cycling discussions are a dime a dozen lol. |

Using that expression once was an eye roller but multiply times? Pretty weak.
CK's fate is so well sealed it should remain perfectly preserved the next eon or two.

I do miss some of those guys from the forum though…gurb, Barry, Sarpin, Keith, etc.
I still keep in touch with Bartape though through another forum and texts. |

But yeah, Danboo absolutely ruined the forum. Can't quite recall exactly what he did but believe it involved carpet-bombing every single thread. These people would end up having conversations with themselves, and it was hard not to draw some comparisons to Jack Nicholson's character in the Shining at times.
Grub was the guy with Crocs and the amazing ability to ride everyone off his wheel while holding 38mph for miles on end. Surreal. Heard Cipollini had even flown to Texas just to see if he could sign him as his lead-out man. |

I’m still not convinced Danboo was not another one of Aluminum Frog’s alter-egos. Both had a creepy fixation on me, both were from Portland, etc.
gurb and his crocs….LOL. Had forgotten about that! But he also gave us an awesome recipe for pizza dough on the grill, so there is that. 😎 |

Danboo and AF were two different people. AF had a ton of alias- Mandy Amanda, Fons de Wolf, and a slew of other. I was a mod and could see their IP addresses, not that wouldn't prevent a second computer from use but Danboo had it in for me that AF didn't. I was reading a west coast on-line newspaper, skimming the comments section of an op-ed and sun-of-a-gun, AF chimed in using one of his familiar noms de plume. Same combative style... no surprise.
IIRR, it was Barry/ Blue Zurich who gave the dough recipe. I still have it under Blue Zurich Pizza Dough in my recipe file.
and of course how could we not forget Fuzzball with her 10,000 bike tests? |

| Wasn't there an "old & fat" ex-pro (maybe?), there was SuperFrenchie towards the last couple years, who took offense at anything criticizing France or the French. Berzin was also a regular, he posts here once in a while doesn't he? I don't know if my forum nostalgia is just me simply missing my thirties lol. Maybe I'm just a woose. |

It was widely suspected that O&F was Jeff Evanshine, who won the Jr. Worlds back in the 90’s. He definitely had a lot of insider knowledge.
Yeah, Berzin pops up now and then here, as does Barry under his Blue Zurich screen name.

| Ive physically met six forumites, chad (beer in Colorado), dinner with Keith and his gang, sidebyside (planned meetup in BC for gravel event), Andy (chance encounter at startline of Whistler gran fondo), canucklehead (chance airport encounter in Montreal while I was enroute to Europe) and Ben (OTGG). Have lots of back and forth with Andy via FB and we were at same spot skiing yesterday judging by our posts. He was in dog area I am sure with his labs which we tend to avoid aait is full of dogs high on adrenaline. |
