lsd, broken ribs ALWAYS impact breathing. But as long as it is just pain it is just a process. Sucks. The pain becomes a big deal when you cannnot breath deeply enough to supply the body. Then you need oxygen. This one is minor. Hurts a little when I breath deeply or touch it (or roll over on it). Scale from 1-10? 3. It will probably be one of my slower injuries to go away, but that's just ribs.

And the opiates so you can actually expand your chest cavity despite the pain. (Also allows you to relax the muscles around both ribs and collarbones, again helping especially the early knitting process. If you have ever fully broken ribs, you know God put the poppy plant on this planet as a gift to us. We've abused that gift rather badly, but it is God's gift. That was my first thought when the morphine flowed into me 13 years ago; my first rib encounter. (And yes, morphine is synthetic, but without the poppy and opium we probably would be learning of the opiates about now, not thousands of years ago.
