***Warning - Spoilers and potential spoilers below!!!****

I postulated a few weeks ago that the M60 was for Uncle jack and his Merry Band of Nazis....nobody else would warrant that kind of firepower. Based on last week, I would wager that is holding true. Even if Hank was still around, there is no way he would resort to that kind of brute force to deal with him. I also predicted that the final episode would pick up with the two foreshadowing segments form the two halves of Season 5. Again, this seem to be the case.

Using those segments as a guide, and reflecting on what happened last week.....this weeks episode would seem to have to focus on the aftermath of Hank & Gomie's deaths. Walt will undoubtedly be the guy who this gets pinned on, mostly because no one elase knows about Uncle Jack, Pyschopath Todd or the Merry Band of Nazis. This assumption ties in well to the foreshadowing of the empty / vandalized White house, neighbor Carol's horrified reaction to his return, etc.

This week's episode is entitled "The Granite State", whcih again ties in perfectly with the foreshadowing and what happened last week. The "disappearerer" toook Walt away and we know that when he returns, the has a NH driver's license. But I don't think we will see much of Walt in this episode because whatever happens in NH is not necessarily germane to the story arc. We already know he gets a new identity.

There are three major questions as I see it now:

* How does Lydia tie into all of this? (Way too loose of thread to leave flapping in the breeze)
* Does Jesse survive? (I am hoping he does, and starting to think he may.....pure speculation, though)
* WHO THE FOOOK IS THE RICIN FOR?!?!!?!?

That last one is nagging at me....Uncle Jack's crew will be dealt with by brute force (obviously). The Riciin is clearly meant for someone specific....and someone he wants to suffer. Perhaps that is Lydia.....they have made a big deal about her and her tea for some time. A dash of Ricin in her tea, perhaps? He was certainly willing to kill her before.....As C2K noted, you gotta use the gun....and Vince Gilligan and crew have proved to be adept at making sure all guns are fired at some point.

CK2, agree with your psychoanalysis of Walter White and I think there is more. From his R and D days the woman he fancied (and seemed to be attracted to him) who went with the other guy, selling out his share of Gray matters (they never made that clear - maybe losing that woman?), and a bunch of inner demons that were suppressed in his easy going midwesterner facade. Once he unscrewed the lid they started coming out and weren't going back in.
So many great bad guys besides WW in this series. Gus Fring may be the best, but Lydia with her high heels is a good rival.
I miss Mike.

PS for your Walter White fans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTix7FDHZcA
Cranston comes in at 2:20. Needs a good quality and reasonably large monitor to appreciate the instantaneous milquetoast to monster conversion.

Gus was the bestest bad guy EVER. Giancarlo Esposito played that character perfectly. I bought one of the seasons on iTunes and each episode had a little "behind the scenes" video that came with it. Giancarlo was so completely different in his mannerisms and speaking patterns than Gus......just brilliant.

Did anyone catch the similarities to Gus when Lydia appeared at the car wash to talk to Walt? Walt was trying to act all non-chalant ("Do you have your ticket? Have an A-1 Day", etc) just like Gus used to do to Walt at Los Pollos Hermanos.

Be aware:

As "Breaking Bad" fans look forward to the final two episodes of the series, they should also re-program their DVRs.

Both the September 22 episode, "Granite State," and the September 29 episode, "Felina," will run longer than 60 minutes. "Breaking Bad" writer/producer Peter Gould tweeted Wednesday that he "checked and its official: #BreakingBad eps are 75 minutes each w/commercials. Set your DVRS accordingly."

it is filmed in the city where I spent part of my growing up, Albq. NM. It's really kind of funny, this story is not really that far fetched in that city.
Not really into it, Breaking Bad, hits pretty close to home, my dumbass nephew will be spending most of his life in prison for being a meth cook/repeat offender, he'll be there until his seventies at least

Holy crap....this show is just an emotional roller coaster. FFS, how much more can Jesse take? Damn.....

And I guess we know who the Ricin is for now.....wouldn't want to be the Schwartz' right now. Or Uncle Jack and the Merry Band of Nazis.

Walter White almost came back......almost. But now there is just Heisenburg....and debts are about to get settled.

So next week will start with the two flashforward vignettes and then buckle up!!

(and is Todd just the creepiest guy or what? Dude is a total pyschopath. "Good night, Jesse." WTF?!?!? Youa re holding him in a cage and you are wishing him a "good night"?!?!)

Yep, He has to wrap up all the rage in his life in one swoop. How many people die next weeK?!?! And who lives?

A classic storyline brings out some kind of morality tale in which the main protagonist learns some lesson that changes his life for the better. Not going to happen here.....

I likes how Todd is trying to morph into Walt so he can pick up Lydia - coffee shop scene. Remember when Walt moved out into his condo a few seasons ago and got a new wardrobe and fancy furnishings? Seeing Todd in the slacks and pressed shirt was kinda funny

Trying to figure out the phone call thing in the bar at the end. Was Walt ready to give up and then randomly seeing the interview with the Gray Matter folks steels his resolve...or did he plan to play it like that all along? It's like Heisenberg awakens and the Nazis are done

I have decided that Jessie is the only redeemable character, hope he makes it. Can't wait for next week

Maybe the phone call was giving up, or maybe to lead the police on a merry chase while he headed back to NM.
I'd stay the heck out of his way right now!
It just has to come down to Jesse and Walt. I can see it now: they reconcile and, hand and hand, look forward to a bright and sunny future together.
Maybe not.

Here's my take.....his 3 months alone caused some serious self-reflection, which prompted the call to Flynn. Having his sin reject him summarily crushed him and he decided to give up....if nothing else so he could have Flynn understand why he did what he did (and that he did not kill Hank).

Then seeing the Schwartzes diminish his contributions and say he was only responsible for the name......well, that was too much. In the end, his relationship / decisions re: Gray Matter is the genesis of his transformation into Heisenberg and his quest for money. His cancer and providing for his family was just the trigger.....the root cause was his jealousy and feelings of failure from Gray Matter.

So the Ricin is for the Schwatzes and the M-60 for the Merry Band of Nazis.

@ jrt - one if the fascinating aspects of this show is how Jesse has become the moral compass of the show. Even though it began with his pathetic efforts at cooking meth, he has become the barometer for right / wrong.

CK - we feel the same way. In the beginning Walt had a conscience and you wondered why he carried Jessie, he was a total loser. Now both Walt and Skyler are unredeemable. Wonder who makes it out alive next week? Imagine the buzz if it is a Sopranos ending

I don't think we've seen the last of Saul, either

I saw a clip of Bryan C and Aaron P on Conan O'Brien. Funny moment of Cranston reading a fan letter written to him by a woman that wants to have sex with Aaron Paul. Anyway, O'Brien repeats a theory he heard that the show will end with Walt entering witness protection, getting a new family and new life, changies his name to Hal and PRESTO, it was all a prequel to Malcolm in the Middle. Kinda funny joke, but a bit of a ripoff of the classic Newhart flashback ending.

No idea how this will all end, but yeah, I think the ricin may be for his old business partners. I love that they are making dough off of drug rehab clinics in the southwest. And, I agre, I think the call to Jr may have had him on the verge of giving up, letting the phone dangle and going to the bar so the call would be traced and the Schwartz moment was too much. Either that, or he was just his usual sociopath self.

I'm with Cosmic on the ending, but how about this for a twist...we see the Schwartz's receive a free sample of Ricin-laced tea in the mail, and decide to brew some up immediately, then a cut to a bar with the Nazi hoard, and WW comes in with the M60, and then cut to black ala Sopranos.

I have no idea how they will deal with Jessie, that will likely be the biggest surprise of all.
