From Loudon County High School just outside Leesburg, VA @ 10am. 50'ish miles at a moderate pace. This is East Coast gravel grinding at its finest. Ride led by Old Man Kegley, grandfather of NOVA gravel grinding.

75 miles with 45 on gravel made for a nice day in Loudon County, VA - pretty much maxed out the capability of my Conti 25mms.

Cool pix PA.
Anyone using fenders on their gravel/adventure bike?
I've zip tied some ancient "Mt. Zefal" plastic parts, which help a little. This setup does hold up under the pounding well.

No fenders for me. I sometimes get a mud/road sludge stripe up my back but it washes out mostly.

8 riders:
6 CX bikes, 1 road bike (25mm tires), 1 fixie road bike (28mm tires).
Of the 6 CX bikes, 3 had disc brakes - 3 had cantis
1 bike had fenders.

I rode across that steam on my 25mms and some other gnarly stuff. My CX bike is a beast so I don't use it unless we are hitting actual single track. So far, the road bike has gone everywhere else.

Man, no place to do 45 miles on reasonable dirt here...nice.

AMAzing what a set of 25 s can do. Most people baby their stuff and it can do more.
