At this point, most of this stuff leads to little more than a yawn. But there is more here: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/cycling/2014/04/09/lance-armstrong-named-names-written-answers-doping/7532825/ |

lawyer-speak warning! Armstrong also was asked to name every person or entity he has paid to keep his doping secret. "Armstrong has not paid or offered to pay someone to keep his or others' doping a secret," he stated. "However, Armstrong has, on occasion, provided benefits or made contributions to many people and institutions, some of whom may have been aware of, or suspected Armstrong's use of performance-enhancing drugs and banned methods. Armstrong never provided any such benefits or contributions with the intent for it to be a payoff to keep doping a secret." |

Once a media whore, always a media whore. Psycho Killer I can't seem to face up to the facts I'm tense and nervous and I Can't relax I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire Don't touch me I'm a real live wire [Chorus:] Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better Run run run run run run run away Psycho Killer Qu'est-ce que c'est Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, away You start a conversation you can't even finish it. You're talking a lot, but you're not saying anything. When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed. Say something once, why say it again? [Chorus] Ce que j'ai fais, ce soir la Ce qu'elle a dit, ce soir la Realisant mon espoir Je me lance, vers la gloire, OK We are vain and we are blind I hate people when they're not polite [Chorus] Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh |

Interesting. There is a code of silence out there, but LA is above that code. Mentioning Thom Weisel is breaking that code big time. Without him none of the LA/Postal/Discovery and the millions made by LA and a number of other as well as Trek's fortunes, Livestrong, etc., etc. would have happened. Steve Johnson has stuck to that code like a mussel to a rock. Granted, he hasn't seen the threat of jail time. But real men honor the code and do their time. (People dishonoring that code have been threaten with worse than jail time by LA and his minions.) Now, I care zero for Mr. Weisel, so LA putting his name in the ring doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I like it. But to me, it says a LOT about the character of LA. Ben |

Glad to see the snake oil salesman finally get named (Carmichael). I hope this crushes his little empire that was built on the back of lies and deception.

While him naming names is noteworthy to a certain extent....are we really surprised by the names? |

Keith, hardly! But his naming them is noteworthy because of what I said above; what it says about LA, and it will make several squirm because this was said under oath. (Weisel and Carmichael esp.) Ben |

Well, I don't think Carmichael had been named before (could be wrong, but I don't remember it). So "surprised"? No. Anyone that thinks Carmichael didn't know what was going on (or that he was even -7's real coach) was kidding themselves. But I was glad to see him get named, since he has profited handsomely from his lies. |

The importance of this is that Armstrong, for the first time, names the people involved directly in his doping, including Ferrari and Bruyneel. Carmichael is important only because he is a gross example of the type of slug that enriched himself via dishonesty, cheating, and lying-all the qualities that would make a regular person an abject failure under normal circumstances. Carmichael will go down in history as nothing but a pathetic footnote in this whole saga.

I think the UCI conspiracy fans are going to be disappointed with his statement he did not directly bribe anyone. Yes he acknowledged his anti doping donation to the UCI but no admissions he enriched anyone personally except maybe their job |
