well maybe Van den Broeck just went to see him because he was a doctor knowledgeable in the WADA-approved medications. I'd believe him if we hadn't heard that and so many other lame excuses before. It's supposed to be Halloween, not Groundhog Day! |

This will be a big momentum shift for Belgian cycling...for years they've flown under radar while major investigations happened in Spain, Italy, US, Germany, Netherlands. I guess their number came up. Worthwhile pointing out that not all 19 are cyclists. |

Although the Spanish inquisition amounted to zilch squashed by a judge whom I suspect also is a Spanish football fan and did not like where the investigation was headed. |

Football played a role in it but equally the fact that the likes of Fuentes were given free reign to prep Spanish athletes for the 92 Barcelona games and since then pretty much could act with impunity because of what they knew. If they'd trace all that, it'd be a slaughterhouse. Ole games always seem to lead to some sort of medial revolution. I think we saw that with Bejing and I am still a bit suspicious that the rise of British cycling coincides with the London games. |

And US cycling (perfectly legal then) blood doping at the LA games. OC you are on to something. It's always been an arms race with blood doping, think Lasse Viren. |

Belgian blood doping investigation LINK. Please, don't let Sven Nys be caught up in this.

ha skinny, i was just going to post that link. “There is something up with him the last weeks, as the maximum just does not want to come for Nys. And that has never been as clear as it is today. This is really not normal anymore. Sven has in the last few weeks clearly indicated that there is something wrong, that he is missing a percent power. Now we have to find the cause. Only then will we know how to tackle the rest of the season.” ... “We will figure out what the problem is,” Verstraeten said to Sporza. “There will be blood analyses and he must go to the osteopath. Everything must be thoroughly checked.”
