I can see this is a controlled substance, but does it offer any performance advantages?

The point being that our sporting heroes must be of impeccable character and beyond reproach. Not that I agree with that. |

Why are chess players tested for EPO and steroids? Cause WADA says so. The whole drug testing business is an ineffective waste of money that creates more confusion than actually catching cheats. |

WADA is on the lookout for chessists high on EPO? That's funny, weird, stupid and sad all at once. Mostly stupid. |

OMG. Chess 'roid rage. Lot's of turning over boards...LOL. Bureaucracy and stupid rules. Once upon a time, I began (but never finished) the process of getting a security (Q) clearance. I had some weird conversations with family, trying to remember death dates, divorce dates, etc. So, after I went into a conference room at my job where there was an FBI agent, I thought, I should make a copy of this. Mind you, it was my job, not an FBI office. They got all crazy because it wasn't a "secure copier". Again, any moment in history five seconds or earlier, I could have copied my own info and dumped it like leaflets from the roof, but now it was, literally a federal offense. Nick |

When will we start testing our elected officials for substance use? |

Maybe not. Think about it. Stage races are raced for accumulated time but no one cares about the actual stage time. Some stages go fast, some quite slowly. The chess player never gets that grace. As soon as the other player completes his turn, the clock is on. If the other player already knows what his next move is, there may be 5 seconds of recovery time before that clock is back on. (And he doesn't have to just cruise in under the time limit, he had to win to line up for the next stage.) At a tournament, he may have an hour or so, then it's back to competing under the clock for the next game Not much time for recovery. And we know that recovery is what EPO is all about.

OMG Nick, was that hilarious, Susanna was hammered!! Up here in SF, the stories are legendary, she has been cut off in a bunch of places up here, and she always says, "Do you know who I am?" she pulled that on a server freind of mine, he said, "All I know is you are a patron who has had enough to drink" and walked away, hilarious!! |

Wow Gonz. I guess those rumors don't make it down I25. I used to be an intern for a now retired state senator. So I don't hear about this stuff as much. Yeah, she didn't sound like, oops, just had a little too much tonight. That was some pro level slurring. I wanna make some peee-ZAH shirts or something. And now today, our former Gov Richardson didn't notice he rear ended a lady and shot her car into an intersection. "Officer, oh did I hit someone?" Man, I sure did pick a, um, colorful place, as an adopted home (15 yrs and counting). :-) N PS: Oh yeah! Gov Johnson, ex pot farmer is running for president now! |
