I posted before that A-ROd was just LA in another type of uniform. I am now more convinced than ever that this is true.

The similarities between the two cases, the statements being made by both sides, "everyone was doing it", "I wanted to make sure they were doing it 'right'.", etc.

A-Rod is an asshat. A ridiculously rich asshat, but an asshat, nonetheless.

What's so amazing about these personality types is that this debacle has played out already, many times, with LA being the latest example of bullying progressing to a complete flameout. Uh, lesson learned yet on how to handle this stuff??? Oh wait, that's right, he already apologized and accepted responsibility like 4 or 5 years ago when he "got clean."

I think what is missing from both the Lance and A-Rod situation is the governing bodies lack of honestly in exactly how poorly their respective testing programs were and still relatively are.

Especially baesball considering how long they turned a blind eye to performance enhancing substances.

Cycling or baseball are hardly the worst offenders when it comes to blind eyes. They are just sports where that lack of honesty has been exposed through significant cases.

Lesson learnt: make sure no one has an axe to grind cause eventually it will catch up with you.

One year suspended for all that? That itself is proof of the total corruption in baseball.

What amazes me is he trusts his health to a total stranger who turns out to be a fake doctor. What an idiot.

The problem with baseball and doping issues is the result of the players' union, not baseball itself.

Ownership was fought and blocked for years about testing and is still fought re: doping punishments.

Because USADA has no jurisdiction over MLB. They only have oversight for ally pic sports.

Buff, Congress is the party to look at here. They created USADA and gave them a mandate to oversee the Olympic sports. Now, if baseball petitions the Olympics and succeeds, they mightl be getting more than they bargained for!

Damn autocorrect.....that should be "Olympic", not "ally pic".  WTF?

Even if baseball gets back in the Olympics, I don't know that USADA would have oversight of MLB.  MLB is basically their own NGO (National Governing Organization).  They can make their own rules since there is no interaction with other international bodies.
