Well, head over to NY tomorrow afternoon to stay at a friend's place on an island in Lake george with about 15 folks. Up early Saturday for 6 or 7 of us who are shooting for 180 miles through the Adirondacks, including apparently some seriosu climbing. The other folks do 50 or 75 mile loops and get to feed us tired souls at days end. We cook for them tomorrow night, so it's fair. Then swimming, cocktails, and watching the sun set over the mountains, good night's sleep listening to the waves lap against the shore, and a leisurely departure home Sunday morning. Weather is supposed o be choice for it. Hope you all have a great weekend as well.

Sounds like a great weekend. I lived in Lake Placid for a couple of years when I was single and riding a lot. The only things I spent money on were bike gear at High Peaks Cyclery and pizza at Mr. Mike's. Road riding in the Adirondacks is fantastic!

vtguy,
I try to get over there a couple times each year for riding. The difference in the road quality is amazing compared to our little state. Nary a pothole or crack to be found, good shoulders in many places, and once you get a few miles away from places like Placid, Whiteface area, or cities like Ticonderoga and Plattsburgh, there's almost no traffic because everyone is on I-87. It really is a sweet place to ride.
Recommended to all for a nice bike vacation!

It can get humid and buggy for sure. The weekend is supposed to be crazy nice. Highs tomorrow low to mid 70s, very low humidity. Soaked in sunshine. It will be chilly at the start but should warm quickly once the sun is up higher.
Gotta finish up my food assignment and hit the road!
