I am now safely ensconced in my hotel for IMWI. Got up her this afternoon, got registered and am all set. Did some light training today before heading up. Nothing for tomorrow and then a little spin on Saturday. Sunday is game time.

It has been 5 years of blood clots, pulmonary embolisms, injuries and frustration to get to this point.....but the goal line is finally insight!

For those of you bored on Sunday, or need something to fill in the commercials during the football games, you can track my progress at the link below. My bib # is 2281, but the link should take you straight to my page. The site * should* update after I cross a timing mat.

People say not to put any time goals out there for your first, but screw that. Yeah, I wanna finish (and finish running), but I want to test myself as well. 12 hours should be pretty obtainable and 11:30 my "realistic" time goal. If all goes perfectly on the run (hah!!), I may tickle 11 hours, but I think that is gonna be a bit of a stretch.

Swim - 1:15 T1 - 10 minutes Bike - 5:35 / 5:45 (hilly course) T2 - 6 Run - 4:20ish

There....it is out there for me to own.
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

A good friend of mine will be racing IMWI as well. I admire you both for the commitment it takes to prepare for an Ironman. Good luck!

4.5hrs of running (blech) and 11-12hrs total, holy crap! Good luck.

At least you have 5.5 hrs of fun activity wedged in there :-)

If you're not divorced, you didn't train enough.

Wow, CK, just being at the start is a huge accomplishment on it's own. You should be extremely proud of yourself. You know what it took to get there. The determination to push through a series of major set-backs is very evident and shows true character.

You will do great. Enjoy it, in a masochistic sort of way, of course!

Oh crap....I'm in trouble. Thanks for the thoughts guys....just an easy day of laying around today and resting. I'm planning on at least 2 naps. Not too shabby.
