CK, I'll be thinking of you as I do my measly 63 miles and 4400' Sunday. Good luck, and more, good pacing. Do us (and yourself) well!

LOL....got a big kick out of reading the thread. Thanks to all you guys for following along. I can't tell you how much it means to me to know that you were watching my progress all day....and it was a LONG day.

My swim and bike exceeded my expectations / goals, and I thought I was lining up for a sub-11 hour race.....but unfortunately, Ironman races have a nasty habit of smacking you down when you think you are in control.

I made a critical error coming off the bike and forgot to take my GPS with me....as a result, I did not know how fast I was running at the beginning and was running by feel. The answer was "Too fast!!" and it cost me. I then started having some stomach issues and by mile 9, the wheels were coming off.....by mile 11 I was walking and proceeded to walk the next 15 miles. My stomach had completely shut down and I couldn't process any water or food.

I reached mile 14 @ 4:00....quickly did the math and said if I could walk 15 minute miles, I still had a shot at breaking 12 hours. Was keeping pretty close to that pace, but had to stop at the med tent for a bandage on a blister on the ball of my left foot. Cost me about 5 minutes and further slowed my pace. My stomach issues cleared up by mile 23 (could finally drink water and energy drink), so tried to start running but the blister pretty much ruled that out.

Finished in 12:08, which if I am gonna be honest, was a bit disappointing. But the fact that I hit that time with 15 miles of walking is pretty good, I guess.

One of our club mates was the last official finisher...she finished in 16:58:3X, I think. We were tracking her progress and know it was gonna be close. It was a great experience seeing her come down the finishing chute and crossing the line!!

Again, thanks for following along. You guys are the best!! . It is truly appreciated!!
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!
