Apparently, despite the video evidence of the cop on his phone, theya re trying to partially blame the cyclist in this video for having stopped beyond the stop sign.

THE COP RAN STRAIGHT INTO HIM BECAUSE HE WAS LOOKING AT HIS PHONE!!!!

eh, how is the cyclist going to assess the intersection without moving ahead?

and the cop brutally cuts that corner; he's simply on the wrong side of the road.

Yeah, I can only assume that it is nothing more than a scare tactic to get the guy to settle quietly and cheaply. Any lawyer worth his salt would LOVE to take that video to a jury.

Monday morning I'm getting a front mounted camera to go wth my rear facing one.

How would that have gone down had there not been video footage of that? Some cyclist's word against a cop... like that's going to play out well for the guy on the bike
