My Italy trip was cancelled.  I was supposed to go mid-May.

Well, surgery next Thursday.  Screws, a titanium plate, and likely a couple "climbing ropes" (doc's term not mine).  Three separate fractures, two nasty, one hairline, torn ligaments.  6 weeks no weight bearing post-surgery, two in a splint, then a boot with some very light PT starting.  Hoping to be mellow pedaling by the end of August and back in decent form in time for the season to end!

In a few days I will be getting my 3rd COVID test in 3 weeks!  One pre-colonoscopy, one in the ER Friday and one pre-surgery.  Been a long couple weeks!  My nose may never recover.

Three tests. Yikes. My wife had one of these and complained about it too.

OC, good point. I think those rogue moto riders were getting in further east than BC, Alberta etc but not Ontario or PQ. Thinline, Good luck with your upcoming surgery. There are some excellent surgeons in BTV. This is big league stuff. More than one syndesmotic cable (that ropey thing) will put you in an elite class. Farther from the heart = harder to heal, but sounds like you already get it that following orders is smart. When flying happens again, go for the microwave booth, as you will get the TSA Walking Dead set upon you in the magnetic detectors, cavity searches etc to justify their Kabuki Theater jobs.

LSD - interesting follow up to border crossing topic. There's a lot of Canadian"snowbirds" in US that may now be here and owning a car with US license+registration is a lot cheaper. Also, so much for us Canucks being friendly.
