I'm optimistically posting this on the Road Cycling form.

I'm back on the trainer.  Rode yesterday for 10 minutes.  About to go a half hour (really easy) when I finish this post.  These are my first anythings since I crashed two Wednesdays ago, breaking my collarbone, losing a lot of skin, pulling a muscle at my hip and generally rearranging my body.  Walking has been a challenge with the pulled muscle and not a constructive exercise.  I;vew lost a lot in a very short time.  Now it is time to start getting it back.  In 10 weeks I'll be riding Cycle Oregon.

I'd be more concerned about the hip in coming back too quickly. Pay attention to tilts and range of motion constraints. Stretch and stretch again. Then stretch some more. But then, you've been around long enough to know the drill. Best of luck to you Ben.

Now that things have settled down, I am pretty sure the hip issue was just a muscle pull. And riding doesn't seem to bother it at all. That and the hard hit. But the hit seems to be getting a lot better. Now if I could just stop re-pulling the muscle. I should stay out of those walking shoes adnnget around the house on my bike!

I keep hearing that cold stretching is of no benefit to actually harmful.
