The old Serotta is going in a different direction under new ownership. Saratoga Frameworks. Basically using the same tools, workers and craftsmanship offering frames at a more competitive price structure while building frames under there new name, Saratoga while also building frames for other labels. Seems to be going in a better direction.

We'll see....I'm skeptical that DCG knows what they are doing, but would love to be proven wrong.

It's unfortunate that a quality American company such as Serotta is floundering in the market place, but that's a story that is being told a thousand times over in this global economy. Not only were they slow to jump on the plastic bike craze, they were also reluctant to source out their work to cheaper Asian labor.

My 1999 Serotta Classique Titanium rolled over 100,000 miles in July. Aside from a few nicks and scratches here and there, the bike looks like it did the day I bought it. Certainly, it's not nearly as fast or sexy as my Cervelo P3C, but it stills rides like a dream. When the day calls for a ride over 30 miles it's the Serotta that I pull off the wall.
