Managed to find a rental bike….Cannondale SuperSix Evo w/ 105. Perfectly acceptable…. Did a quick 30 mile ride yesterday (had planned for 60, but needed to go get the rental and pick up some presentations, so….). Further adjust the bars (flipped the stem and swapped out about 2cm of spacers) and did 80 today, mostly along the coast on the Treasure Coast area of FL. Nice day out. Buddy has already sent me a replacement derailleur, so it should be waiting for me when I get home on Tuesday night.

Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

You do the hilly route? As a matter of fact, there was one overpass that was quite high and steep, smartass.

A KOM then? Nice Back in the pre-internet day when Velonews was the place to find used bikes I bought a Kestrel 200EMS (white of course) with 8v Record and downtube shifters from a guy in Florida. 53/39 with a 12x19 straight block. The cassette was promptly removed and turned into a paperweight.

12x19 straight block. Sigh I always loved the look of a straight block.....just meant business. Nowadays, you practically get a 12-19 straight block in the middle of a 12-28 cassette!

My first bike had a 12-22 block, not quite straight but close, with a 44 small ring. No idea how I got up the Amstel Gold hills with that gearing.
